TWO PAPER DIVA DESIGN TEAM CARD - "It's Your Lucky Day"

Once again Melissa and Gayla, owners of TWO PAPER DIVAS, have designed some great options with this cute set of stamps titled "Lucky Me" for St. Patrick's Day.  Check it out on their website, TWO PAPER DIVAS.COM and click on "Shop", Clear Stamps and then on the category Holiday.  You will find it nestled in among some other really fun stamps.  In this case, the Hat with the Shamrocks; the single shamrock which I stamped four of them - once on the card face and then on a scrap of white card stock I stamped the four of them again.  All of this was colored with Tomball Watercolor pens (love the way that they color - so smooth and you are able to do some shading to get a similar effect like Copics).  Once all of it was colored then I cut out the four shamrocks from the scrap paper.  I formed them to give them a little life and set them aside for a later time after the card was built.

I decided on the Sentiment from the "Lucky Me" stamp set of Two Paper Divas but it still needed one more playfulness on the card and I pulled out a new die set I have from Simon Says Stamp called "Color and Sunshine".  I die cut this lower area with the die which gives the area for the illusion of a rainbow.  Simon Says makes a companion stamp set by the same name "Color and Sunshine" and they have three curved bars that fit this die that can be individually colored (however) and then placed behind this die.  BUT, this is a TWO PAPER DIVAS card and my stamps must be Divas only.  So I cut a piece of glossy card stock and decided to be playful with the Distress Inks and color in a non-conformist way.  This "could" be a very large rainbow and it does not fit the die ........ whatever one might gleam from this ..... it adds the spark of color .... and the pretense of the "Gold at the End of the Rainbow".  After all it is MY LUCKY DAY or is it YOU THE READER OF THIS???

Once I built the card and layered the different card stock, I then applied the four extra shamrocks with Glossy Accents over the four that are falling out of the hat (because I tilted the hat on the card - funny me!!). With my Glossy Accents still in my hand, I applied a coating over the face of these shamrocks giving it a wonderful glow!!  Not leaving the card alone at this point, I just had to apply some gold star sequins falling out as well.  Part of the "GOLD" don't you know!!  These stars are a new arrival from Pretty Pink Posh!!

So, now that I have played with this card ....... HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY in March.  It will be here before we know it.

TWO PAPER DIVAS DESIGN TEAM CARD - Hot Air Balloon, Mts., and the Sentiment "Simply the best"

Another Clean and Simple card from me this week.  We are having a perfect winter day in Pagosa Springs, CO. today.  So, it reminded me of how normally we see our Balloons up taking the tourists around to see what beautiful countryside we enjoy!!  But, today I have not seen a Balloon up, so I decided to make my own scene.  As I have said before, I love this new set of stamps by TWO PAPER DIVAS - "You are my Sunshine".  So when the balloons are out flying around, I see them against the Mts. out my windows at our home.  This scene is truly "Simply the best".

I used the Mama Elephant "Clearly Creative Cuts" die to allow the focus of the Balloon and the Mts.  We always see some very colorful balloons, especially during our Colorfest each year ..... so, I decided to sort through my large clear container holding my Washi Tape to use for the balloon.  I stamped and cut the balloon and then applied the tape and colored the basket.  Then it was popped up to show it in front of the Mts.  Speaking of the Mts. ..... this is a wonderful stamp, CREATED by TWO PAPER DIVAS.  The name of it is "Mountains".  What else and you need it in your stash!!  Along with these Mountains is a tiny two "extra" tree grouping ..... not used here but would be good to have in certain circumstances.  Thanks Gayla and Melissa!!!

TWO PAPER DIVAS has this awesome Sentiment only it actually says, "you are Simply the best".  Well I performed "surgery" again and separated it because as I said above ...... we have "Simply the best" view!! AND, we always have a camera ready or our binoculars handy!!

The card base and the die cut is with the Robyn's Egg Blue card stock from Ellen Hutson.  A few punches of the clouds and the card is done!!

Thanks for stopping by and enjoying My View!!

TWO PAPER DIVAS Card / Valentine with White Sketch Heart Die

Hey one can never have too many Valentines!! Will be back to finish my post .....gotta go eat!!  I am back and have actually eaten a "few" times since I started this.  Never fails ..... other projects get in the way.

We had a lovely snow storm which cancelled my card classes yesterday.  We got about a foot of snow but it is waiting for the county snow plows to come and then we have to clear out the berm to the driveway that they make!!  Card classes will now be on Friday but I was ready on Monday so these couple of extra days have allowed me to get some other important things done!!!

I somewhat "cased" this card from Lime Doodle Design that I recently saw on the internet.  Debby has a lot of fun with her cards and I had bought this Simon Says Sketch Heart Die and decided to play with her concept.  Using my Craft Sheet I squiggled several of the Distress Ink Pads onto the sheet.  Then I used my mini mister to get some beading of water on the sheet in these colors.  Once that was accomplished, I dragged my Tim Holtz watercolor card stock through the color and let it run down.  I also dipped it in areas that I wanted a specific color or intensity.  If you need to add more color, or vibrant color to some areas on the sheet than repeat that process. But, the task is not to completely cover this piece of card stock (or at least it was not the look I was going for).  Once satisfied, then I used my heat gun to dry it (both sides).  My intention was not to saturate the card stock, so I did not tape it down to a piece of scrap card board and paint water with a brush before I went after the colors.  Although this could be done.

Once dry, I stamped the heart in the lower right hand corner with a TWO PAPER DIVAS stamp set "Sending Love".  Look closely at it on their website because it says "Be Mine" .... too cute!!  I also used a little outlined heart stamp from that same set which I used the Golden Glitz Delicata pigment ink to stamp around the card.  I love this Delicata gold metallic look ink and I got started using it because of one of my favorite people (card maker) I like to follow, Julie Ebersole.  I used glossy paper to die cut the heart and I used both pieces that came out of the die (cool aspect).   I used the Glue n' Seal glue by Ranger to glue the outline part of the heart to my card.  I did not realize it until just a few minutes ago, that my Sentiment is actually a really old one from TWO PAPER DIVAS and now it is not available (am I right Melissa and Gayla?).   Oh well, if you like it......send them a note that you want it back!!!  HA  I used the ZING white embossing powder to do this Sentiment.  Then when placing the black banner, I had to decide which edge of the card to follow ..... hate these decisions sometime ..... but I chose the red card base!!

As you can see, the base card is red and I used a coral color card stock for a layering paper under the Distress Watercolor paper.  Inside the card, I used a piece of Solar White card stock so what I want to say can be visible on the red.  But, I used the Die and cut out a section so the red card stock would show through.  I also used one of the new Bo Bunny Stamp Stickers in the opposite corner with a couple of the Delicata Gold hearts I used on the front.  It leaves just enough space to sign.........

So there you have it ......Happy Valentines Day (in a month) to all of you!!!   Hearts!!!

P. S.  Have you ever just kept looking at a card and felt it needed "one more thing" ...... down at the lower section of the card it needed that "one more thing" ...... a gold sequin and two little crystals!  Now Imagine!! Right there in the middle of Dried Marigold splotch!!  Does it need to be rephotographed .....Nah .... trust me ..... it worked!!

TWO PAPER DIVAS CARD / Chocolate says "I Love You" 2015

Welcome to another TWO PAPER DIVA CARD but this time about "Chocolate".  Oooh!  Do we love Chocolate........It is a really simple card but I wanted the Sentiments to stand out not ribbon and paper!!  Using a Solar White card stock, I first scored the three lines at different lengths down the right side of a left side folded card (this is an A2 card).  I then stamped the two front Sentiments in Early Espresso (Brown) ink by Stampin' Up and what you do not see is the inside Sentiment "Give Me Chocolate  please .....

I love to use my "inches" when I can and in this case I used two different sizes.  These are basically, for those who do not know, pieces of the matting that framers use.  The material is usually just scraps and is so often thrown away at a frame shop.  Make friends with the owner and trade cards for him or her to make "inchies" in all sizes for you.  I have had some with straight sides and some with beveled.  These are straight on the card.

I stamped the two cupcakes in the Early Espresso ink and then I used marking pens in Early Espresso and Close to Cocoa to just color the cake and icing.  Once dry, I used my clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen on the Cake, Icing and the Paper Wrapper.  I think that I went over it twice to give it a real glittery look ..... hard to see except in a bright light.  I popped up the small inchie but used score tape on the larger inchie to securely hold these.  Next I added the silver sequins on the front and three of them on the inside.  For the centers of these sequins I used Silver Stickles .....it helps to finish the look - no hole!!

The "Really?" of the Sentiments on the front is from the TWO PAPER DIVA clear stamp set "Sassy Sayings" and the other two Sentiments are from the clear stamp set "It's all about Chocolate".

I am currently working on cards for two classes this next Tuesday my morning and afternoon classes.  Some cute cards are being created and I hope to get them photographed and added to my BLOG ..... so stay tuned!!  Happy 2015!!!
