TWO PAPER DIVAS Card / Valentine with White Sketch Heart Die

Hey one can never have too many Valentines!! Will be back to finish my post .....gotta go eat!!  I am back and have actually eaten a "few" times since I started this.  Never fails ..... other projects get in the way.

We had a lovely snow storm which cancelled my card classes yesterday.  We got about a foot of snow but it is waiting for the county snow plows to come and then we have to clear out the berm to the driveway that they make!!  Card classes will now be on Friday but I was ready on Monday so these couple of extra days have allowed me to get some other important things done!!!

I somewhat "cased" this card from Lime Doodle Design that I recently saw on the internet.  Debby has a lot of fun with her cards and I had bought this Simon Says Sketch Heart Die and decided to play with her concept.  Using my Craft Sheet I squiggled several of the Distress Ink Pads onto the sheet.  Then I used my mini mister to get some beading of water on the sheet in these colors.  Once that was accomplished, I dragged my Tim Holtz watercolor card stock through the color and let it run down.  I also dipped it in areas that I wanted a specific color or intensity.  If you need to add more color, or vibrant color to some areas on the sheet than repeat that process. But, the task is not to completely cover this piece of card stock (or at least it was not the look I was going for).  Once satisfied, then I used my heat gun to dry it (both sides).  My intention was not to saturate the card stock, so I did not tape it down to a piece of scrap card board and paint water with a brush before I went after the colors.  Although this could be done.

Once dry, I stamped the heart in the lower right hand corner with a TWO PAPER DIVAS stamp set "Sending Love".  Look closely at it on their website because it says "Be Mine" .... too cute!!  I also used a little outlined heart stamp from that same set which I used the Golden Glitz Delicata pigment ink to stamp around the card.  I love this Delicata gold metallic look ink and I got started using it because of one of my favorite people (card maker) I like to follow, Julie Ebersole.  I used glossy paper to die cut the heart and I used both pieces that came out of the die (cool aspect).   I used the Glue n' Seal glue by Ranger to glue the outline part of the heart to my card.  I did not realize it until just a few minutes ago, that my Sentiment is actually a really old one from TWO PAPER DIVAS and now it is not available (am I right Melissa and Gayla?).   Oh well, if you like it......send them a note that you want it back!!!  HA  I used the ZING white embossing powder to do this Sentiment.  Then when placing the black banner, I had to decide which edge of the card to follow ..... hate these decisions sometime ..... but I chose the red card base!!

As you can see, the base card is red and I used a coral color card stock for a layering paper under the Distress Watercolor paper.  Inside the card, I used a piece of Solar White card stock so what I want to say can be visible on the red.  But, I used the Die and cut out a section so the red card stock would show through.  I also used one of the new Bo Bunny Stamp Stickers in the opposite corner with a couple of the Delicata Gold hearts I used on the front.  It leaves just enough space to sign.........

So there you have it ......Happy Valentines Day (in a month) to all of you!!!   Hearts!!!

P. S.  Have you ever just kept looking at a card and felt it needed "one more thing" ...... down at the lower section of the card it needed that "one more thing" ...... a gold sequin and two little crystals!  Now Imagine!! Right there in the middle of Dried Marigold splotch!!  Does it need to be rephotographed .....Nah .... trust me ..... it worked!!

    1. Thank you Mel for your comments and for letting me know where to find the Happy Heart Day. I just knew that it was no longer on the set that I have. My gals in my classes enjoyed making this card. I thank Debby of Lime Doodle Designs for creating her card for me to Case. She is a fun designer to follow!!!
